With the latest Preview of Windows 11, available to members of the Insider program, Microsoft is testing a new feature for its Xbox game bar. The latter now allows quick access to the latest games and launchers used.
A relatively central tool in the gaming experience offered on Windows, the Xbox game bar is even better with the latest Insider Preview for Windows 11 (build 22618). We learn from Neowin that Microsoft has introduced a new feature allowing ultra-fast access to recently launched games and launchers. This new function is accessible by simply pressing the Windows + G command, or by using the Xbox button on a controller connected to the PC.
In this case, this novelty displays a simplified menu allowing you to find on one side the last three titles launched, and on the other the last three launchers used. The only prerequisite for it to appear: be anywhere on Windows… and not already on a game. For the rest, this function is available to members of the Windows and Xbox Insider program, who can therefore try it now .
The increasingly practical Xbox Game Bar on Windows 11
Once the command Windows + G (or the Xbox button on the controller) is pressed, the game bar is displayed on top of any other window already open, as usual. All you have to do is go to the corresponding tab to get quick access to the games and launchers you’ve recently launched. Without being revolutionary, this new function is practical and complements what the Xbox game bar already offered. Microsoft explains that it will simplify the process of starting your favorite games…especially if you like to leave the mouse as much as possible in favor of a controller.
Either way, this quick access from the Xbox Game Bar will be rolling out to Windows 11 on a large scale soon. also the Xbox Insider Hub app. Finally, you will need to be registered for the Windows Gaming preview, available in the Xbox Insider Hub.
