For a few years now, Discord has become one of the best-known applications for making video calls with our friends. With a more gaming-oriented approach, it gives us the possibility of creating all types of community servers, an evolution of the legendary Internet forums.
If you often use Discord, you may know that for some time the company has been asking its users to change their name, since They are going to get rid of the numerical endings that accompanied the username. Below these lines we tell you how to do it.
How to change your username on Discord
The numerical endings allowed users to establish any name even if it was repeated in the database, since the numbers were added randomly and allowed each user name to be differentiated. Until now, the ID of each user was established by the structure (name#0000), although for some time Discord is asking its users to switch to a single user.
Starting next March 4, Discord will begin assigning usernames to those who have not chosen one on their own. For this reason, if you have a Discord account and want to obtain a unique username, you must change it from the application settings. If you don’t, Discord will try to assign you a unique user that is similar to your current one.
To update your username you must press the settings icon that appears at the bottom left and open ‘User settings‘. Here we must press on ‘Begin‘ and at this point we can choose a unique username.

From Discord they have sent their users an email with all the information about this change. The company already warned about this a long time ago, although now it has done it again because there are only a few days left until Discord begins to change usernames permanently.
If you look at the user settings, you will see that once you have decided on your unique username, you will also be able to see the classic Discord identifier in small form before this change.
