Apple’s first official Nike sneaker has been made especially for Tim Cook!
Steve Jobs, the legendary co-founder of Apple, was known for his signature minimalist style, and his wardrobe choices included New Balance sneakers. The current CEO of the company has partly taken up the trend and, in the recent Apple keynote, Tim Cook managed to draw attention to his footwear.
In the short streaming of the “Let Loose” event, Cook caught attention by wearing a special edition Nike Air Max 1 ’86 sneaker. But Stop! Don’t expect these shoes to sell for the astronomical figures that similar items have achieved. We already told you why.
Tim Cook wore a special edition of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 in “Let Loose”
Contrary to Jobs, Cook did not intend to save time when dressing by choosing this look. Rather, I wanted to attract attention and match the occasion to present the new iPad Pro and iPad Air.
As explained, The Air Max ’86 pair was designed to flex all the advanced capabilities of the iPad Pro and Pencil Pro.
The sneakers featured a white mesh body and sole. The decorative stitching that surrounds the Swoosh, as the Nike logo is known, and on the heel they refer to the Apple Pencil Pro, imitating the lines of a sketch. The Swoosh also appears on the ’86s tongue, along with the handwritten words “Made on iPad.”
In a publication of Hypebeastit is explained the reason why Apple decided to ally with Nike:
Building on Apple’s long history of collaborations, Cook wore Nike Air Max 1 ’86s that were designed to accompany the unveiling of the refreshed iPad Pro with the M4 chip and new Apple Pencil Pro.
Apple has us used to big little surprises at its events and in “Let Loose” it couldn’t be different. In its first launch of the year, the company presented a large number of new hardware products and news.
Finally, the iPad Pro has been announced with historic changes, new iPad Air models and a renewed Magic Keyboard. In addition, a new, and necessary, Apple Pencil Pro with new functions that were intended to be represented in the shoes custom-made for Tim Cook.
To the sadness of many, it has also been confirmed that the sneakers will not be available for sale to the public. Despite this and other news that has not been very amusing to the firm’s clients, there is no doubt that Apple has shined with an exciting event in which even fashion has been present.
