Legal streaming services for movies, series or video games, together with the offer to watch football, is not enough to convince all users to flee from piracy. In fact, a percentage will never pay for these services regardless of what they are worth, although it is true that some adjustments could be made to make the legal offer more attractive to the masses (especially in paid football).
Direct Red Corner, Identi.li and Downloadsmix
Over the last few days we have known the closure or blocking of several pages that had many users in our country. These are Direct Red Corner, Identi.li and Downloadsmix.com. It is possible that you will find cloned versions with similar domains, something quite common when domains are closed.
In the case of Identi.li, the case has been taken by the judicial authorities of Seville. These have dictated a year in prison for the person responsible for the website in addition to a fine of 14,440 euros. This website allowed access to movies, series and video games without paying anything, which focused the wrath of the audiovisual industry.
Another similar case is the one experienced Downloadsmix.com, a well-known website that allowed unauthorized downloading of copyright-protected content. The creators of this have been sentenced to two years in prison and a disqualification to carry out their activity in the same period. There is no known imposition of any type of fine.
Finally, we have the case of the web to watch football in Direct Red Corner. As its name suggests, it allowed free access to live football matches, as well as other content protected by copyright. The Provincial Court of Madrid has sentenced its administrator to two years in prison and the payment of compensation of 500,000 euros.
