I’ve been experiencing a crash for weeks when watching content on Apple TV+. It didn’t matter what platform you used Apple’s streaming video platform, which all the series and movies always appeared with the audio in English.
I had reviewed all the settings within the application and everything was correct. I couldn’t find the solution and It was quite a nuisance that with each chapter I had to change the language just start. And in the end, I ended up finding the key and as it usually happens, it was something easily solvable.
English always and by default
I began to watch a chapter of a series, and immediately after starting the second, the audio language was set back to English by default. Quite a hassle that made me browse the platform options to avoid finding the solution.
I would go in with the button on the Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote and press Play/Pause while watching a series and then go to the icons above the play bar and select the “Audio” button and set the desired language there. The problem is that the changes were not saved and with each new chapter there was the English again.
And it is that in the end the person responsible was one of the Apple TVs that I have at home. A model that had been changed under warranty and that I had reinstalled. The problem is that on that Apple TV the audio was set to the default language, and that meant that all the devices that used Apple TV+ would use English by default.
And it was to make the change and correct the error. To do so I had to enter the “Settings” from Apple TV. Icon with cogwheel gear on gray background.
Within “Settings” in turn I clicked on “Video and Audio” and among all the options I went to “Audio Language” in the “Audio” section.
There the key is that in the section “Audio Language” Spanish is marked, since if, for example, it is set to automatic, every time you start playing a chapter of a movie series, the language that is set by default is used, which is usually English
That little mismatch was causing all the audio and language issues on my Apple TV+ account.
