A major novelty is coming to the most used messaging application, WhatsApp Overhaul your storage manager by incorporating search filters. Thanks to this, it is much easier to know which chats take up the most space and also know the spending in MB of the channels. At the moment it appears in the WhatsApp betas.
As those of us who have had to deal with a thorough cleaning of phones, there is no other application that uses more space than WhatsApp. In itself, it’s not their fault, more ours (we’re in too many groups), but there’s no doubt that it ends up being a bottomless pit with all the videos, photos, and files we end up receiving. WhatsApp itself allows you to clean the space that it occupies from its settings. And it has been reforming the interface to make it easier to use.
New channel and chat filter to know how much they take up
Until now, a small “Search” button allowed you to see the space occupied by each conversation with the possibility of cleaning multimedia files in the process of deleting occupied megabytes. With the latest update, “Search” is maintained, only now there is buttons with filters to make said search more intensive and simpler.
Just like discovered WaBetaInfoand we have been able to test in the WhatsApp beta for iOS, the filter buttons allow segment the space occupied by chats and channels. In this way we will see what needs more cleaning, since those with the largest occupied space will appear at the top.
Keeping the “All” WhatsApp shows the storage occupied by all conversations, whether they are private chats such as groups and channels. When you choose “Chats” you only see the storage occupied by the private and group conversations. And if we select “Channels” we will have the information of those channels to which we have subscribed. Given the the channels They are less likely to be preserved, we will be able to know at a glance if it is worth destroying them. Or, at least, empty them of content.
The novelty in WhatsApp storage management is now available in the WhatsApp betas, both for iOS and Android. Even so, it is not activated for all users, so it may not appear even if you have the beta. And it won’t take long to reach stable versions: WhatsApp is covering most of its key functions with filtering buttons.
