Evolution goes fast and does not wait, if there is a company that has understood it well, it is undoubtedly TP-Link. The famous brand specializing in routers, Wi-Fi repeaters and CPL has just made an important announcement last night. Check out Wi-Fi 7 routers now, a new generation of Wi-Fi that doesn’t even exist yet, but TP-Link prefers to be ready before all of its competitors.
TP-Link presents Wi-Fi 7 routers
While we are currently in full democratization of Wi-Fi 6E with internet boxes that have just been compatible and devices like the iPad Pro 2022 that have finally switched to this new standard, some companies are already thinking aboutfuture of Wi-Fi.
TP-Link has announced the upcoming release of new Wi-Fi 7 routers. On the program, a ton of promise and performance impressive which have nothing to envy to a direct Ethernet cable connection!
Wi-Fi 7 (also known as 802.11be) could be a great progress for wireless networks. New features such as 4096QAM amplitude modulation and support for 320 MHz channel width could enable peak speeds much higher and improve performance in high traffic areas. Wi-Fi 7 should continue to use this band and may add new features allowing devices to send data on more than one band at a time.
What are TP-Link’s commitments with Wi-Fi 7?
During its event, which was broadcast live on YouTube, TP-Link unveiled all that Wi-Fi 7 will bring to a business, a public place or to an individual’s home.
Among the promises are:
- Downflow up to 46 Gbit/s (4.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 6E)
- 100 times less latency compared to Wi-Fi 6
- Performance in augmented reality and virtual reality up to 15 times better
- 5 times more network capacity than Wi-Fi 6 thanks to 320 MHz and MLO (Multi-Link Operation)
To allow connoisseurs to compare Wi-Fi 7 to previous standards, TP-Link has posted a comparison table on its site which allows you to see the differences between Wi-Fi 5, 6, 6E and 7.
A premature announcement
Are you wondering why no TP-Link competitor has announced Wi-Fi 7 compatible routers yet? It is simply because the standard will be certified thatfrom 2024. Therefore, when TP-Link’s new routers (expected to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2023) hit the market, they will not have Wi-Fi Alliance certification.
For Wi-Fi 7 enabled devices, the number should be close to 0 until at least summer 2023.
Starting next year, TP-Link plans to launch these 3 routers. On the left you have the router TP-Link Archer GE800 which will be specialized for online games, mesh routers TP-Link Deco BE95 and BE85 which will primarily target the range of the wireless network in your home and the router Archer BE900.
For each router, count around 700 dollars minimum, a price that will certainly decrease in 2024 when new competitors arrive on the market!
At the moment, TP-Link has not mentioned the exact list of countries where the routers will be available from the first quarter of next year.
