For the past few days, WhatsApp has been refusing to send videos. A bug that Meta has not yet fixed, forcing users to look for alternative solutions. Fortunately, these exist. We give you two in this article.
For several days, WhatsApp and its users have been victims of a very annoying bug. Unable to send videos to each other, for no apparent reason. Currently, only Android users seem to be affected by the phenomenon, while Meta has not yet communicated on it. For most, all that remains is to wait for an update to correct the problem.
But if you are in the habit of sending a lot of videos, as may be the case with some professionals for example, you are probably looking for a temporary solution. That’s good: we have two to offer you. Each requires a bit of manipulation, but they will allow you to send photos again without waiting for the official fix.

How to fix the WhatsApp bug that prevents you from sending videos
The first solution is to revert to an old version of WhatsApp. In fact, only the latest update is affected by the bug. So you just have to sort of “uninstall” it to get everything back to normal. Unfortunately, the Play Store does not yet allow this manipulation, so you will need to download the corresponding APK. Here’s how to do it:
- Uninstall WhatsApp from your Android smartphone
- Click on the button below to download theWhatsApp APK
- Open the downloaded APK
- Press on Install
- Open WhatsApp then log in to your account
You are now on the old version of WhatsApp, the one which is located just before the last update. You will therefore find the same functionalities, without the bug which prevents you from sending videos. All you have to do is install the next update to get everything back to normal.
The second solution is a bit more technical but will save you from uninstalling WhatsApp. Some users have noticed that videos in .mov format can be sent without problems. This is quite logical, since this is the format in which videos shot on the iPhone are saved. However, these are not impacted by the bug. Also, you can convert the videos you want sent to .mov format to no longer be blocked by the latter. Here’s how :
- Click on the button below to download the application Video converter
- Open the app and tap To start
- Then click on Video Converter
- Select the video of your choice then press Next
- In Formatselect MOV
- Adjust other settings as desired
- Press on Done
- Rename the file if you wish then press Save
The generated video will then be in format MOV. You should be able to send it via WhatsApp without any problems.
While these two solutions work wonderfully, it is clear that users lose time and convenience. So let’s hope that WhatsApp will soon correct this bug via a future update. Stay tuned, this one should arrive soon.
