WhatsApp takes time renewing the application interface on both platforms. and the company has now revealed even more changes in every corner of the application, to give a new look to the messaging platform used by more than 2 billion people around the world.
We’ve recently seen some interesting and very useful changes to the app, including new chat filters, revamped buttons, and even a new color for the app on the iPhone. Now, WhatsApp has shown what will be the final design of the application, at least for this year.
The evolution of the WhatsApp design and the new changes for 2024
WhatsApp has changed a lot since it arrived in 2009. In the image above we can see some of the designs that the application’s interface has had over the years. Those of us who have been using WhatsApp for more than a decade will undoubtedly remember some of these designs with nostalgia.
Over the past few months, WhatsApp has drastically changed its look. For example, on Android it replaced the top bar where access to the different sections of the app was located, with a new bar at the bottom of the screen, similar to the one we see in the iPhone version of the app. Being at the bottom makes it easier to move between chats, groups and statuses on mobile phones with larger screens.
The app also added the new conversation filters, which allow you to quickly divide chats between read, unread and groups. These filters come to both iOS and Android.
The app is also revamping its animations, illustrations and icons, in addition to incorporating a new color palette to have a uniform and coherent experience on iPhone and Android. This is why WhatsApp for iOS has replaced the blue color palette with the same green color palette that we see on Android.
However, some changes that we will see in the application from now on will be exclusive to one platform or another. For example, the files and attached documents menu (the one that appears when you press the paperclip button) is slightly different on each system.
Several of these changes are already available in both the beta version of WhatsApp and even in the final version. Other new features in the interface will arrive soon to all WhatsApp users on iOS and Android. It is important to remember that although these images show the new search bar with artificial intelligence, Meta AI, this function is currently only available in some countries.
