The instant messaging app has just introduced a new search filter to make it easier to find a particular message on Android.
Searching for a WhatsApp message on a specific date on Android is now possible. Instant messaging has just deployed this new feature in the Android version of its application. This new filtering option, already present on iOS, macOS and on WhatsApp Web, should allow you to find your missives more easily.
This new option was revealed by Mark Zuckerberg himself. The boss of Meta has in fact published on his WhatsApp channel a demonstration video of this new search tool on Android.
Contrary to what one might believe, this new search module by date is not available from the general search field where the conversations are listed. To find it, you will need to enter a discussion, then access its details, by selecting the name of the contact or group or access the options by pressing the button with three small dots. You can then press the Search button to activate the conversation search box. To the right of it, you should find a calendar icon. Then press it. You should be able to access a complete calendar and only have to select a day for the conversation to automatically go back to messages sent or received on that date.
With this new search module, WhatsApp complements its existing tools. The application indeed offers several search solutions, including the possibility of finding a message by directly entering a keyword, or of searching for files from the file manager integrated into each conversation.
For several months now, WhatsApp has been multiplying updates to try to maintain the attractiveness of its messaging. A few days ago, for example, messaging officially launched the possibility of formatting the text of your messages.
But WhatsApp is still preparing many other new features, both to provide new features and to strengthen the security of its users. As proof, the platform is currently preparing an option through which you can configure the application to send photos and videos in HD by default, without having to select the setting each time.
The application is also about to introduce a new safeguard to protect you from stalkers : WhatsApp should indeed block screenshots taken on profile photos very soon.
