Since its Patch Tuesday in March 2024, Windows 11 suffered from serious performance drops on PCs equipped with an AMD processor. We had to wait several days for Microsoft to resolve this problem via an optional update. If you are facing the problem, here is how to install the latest update.
A few days ago, Microsoft rolled out March Patch Tuesday for Windows 11 on compatible PCs. This update, although supposed to correct bugs in the operating system, caused many problems for users. Additionally, those on a device equipped with an AMD processor were the most impacted, reporting serious performance drops and extremely long loading times.
The problem seems to come from compatibility with CPUs, since PCs are not the only ones affected. Indeed, owners of the Asus ROG Ally, which runs Windows 11 with an AMD chip, have also witnessed lower framerates and longer loading times. And that’s not all: for some, it was downright repeated blue screens of death that prevented them from using their machine calmly.
