we already knew that Windows 11 Widgets could be interesting, but, being limited to Microsoft developments, it lost relevance. Now, the Redmond giant publishes the details about the development of these Widgets by any developer. Let’s see what details Microsoft publishes about it.

The first detail that we can see within the published information is that the Widget refers to an application installed on the device. “Widgets help users stay on top of what’s important to them by adding personalized content and quick actions from the apps they use.”
The Redmond Giant refers to the JSON format and to customizable cards, which we’ve talked about before. In addition, it shows the developers the different states which must have a Widget.
It is rumored that the next builds of the Dev channel could incorporate support for third-party Widgets. As we have already indicated, we will have to install an application and said app will offer us the possibility of adding a Widget.
We will see which developers take advantage of this new functionality and how they take advantage of the Widgets panel. At the moment, you can already consult all the documentation that Microsoft has released, although it needs to monitor the translation of the content for developers.
This is a first step for widgets in Windows 11. We will see how the development of the widgets evolves with the suggestions of the developers. This documentation is not set in stone, but may be modified by Microsoft based on developer feedback.
