With the arrival of the new MacBook Pro models, Apple has once again reminded us of one of its principles. What it gives us in one place, it compensates in another way, removing others. And if we talk about professional laptops, we have three new MacBook Pro models, all of them 14 and 16 inches. However, the 13-inch model, with TouchBar and M2, have been removed from its catalog. Or not?
If we focus exclusively on the direct and official sales channel, the Apple Store, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is no longer accessible for purchase. When we go to the computer section, and we want to go for a MacBook Pro, we can only select between two sizes.
Recently, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman said that we would not see a new 13-inch model because it was not ready for launch. Given this movement, and the complete renewal of the devices that included the M2 Pro and M2 Max, the 13-inch laptop has left the main line. And you can’t buy it anymore… unless we do something.
This is how you can buy a 13″ M2 MacBook Pro in the Apple Store
Although it has an older design than the rest of its “older brothers”, the truth is that this model is still very powerful. We are looking at a computer that has an Apple M2 processor, with everything that this implies. And until two news programs ago, it was the device with which we entered the Pro range, without having to buy a 14-inch model.
Now, if we want to buy a new MacBook Pro, and we want to go for an entry-level model, we will have to go for the 14-inch one. But this does not mean that the 13″ M2 MacBook Pro is not still selling. In fact, it does. And we will find it in the Certified Refurbished products section.
We can buy it refurbished by Apple itself
This is not the first time we have told you what the refurbished section in the Apple Store consists of. This section hides products that, sometimes, are real treasures. Both for the specifications they have inside, and for the prices they can reach.
Of course, among the main limitations, we have a reduced stock and we do not have the possibility of customizing the specifications to our liking. However, we have a reduced price and access through the official sales channel, to a device that is older.
And best of all, these are products that Apple itself has officially refurbished. What does this mean? To begin with, all the parts that have been used to tune them are 100% original. So we will have peace of mind and the certainty that everything this team has works. In addition, of course, no “pirate” spare parts have been used, which prevent the computer from working correctly.
In addition to this, we can contract Apple Care+! Even if it is an older team, we can continue hiring coverage, in the same way we would be doing with a new team. So, you know: If you want to buy it, you have it through Lois refurbished.
