The Android 14 preview is here. After months of waiting and many updates to Android 13, Google ends its cycle and release developer version of your next operating system.
Just introduced in Android 14 Developer Preview 1, this feature will make things easier for users carrying two SIM cards in your phone. Now, Android evolves and is smarter.
Android 14 will change SIM depending on the connection
As the medium 9to5Google has discovered, a new option in SIM card settings that will allow the system itself to manage these connections. In this way, Android 14 will automatically switch between the two cards depending on when one of them has a better connection for calls and the Internet.
This new addition will allow the user to have a backup secondary SIM, so that in the case of poor signal reception, you continue to have connectivity in the second. It will be there when this function enters the scene to change the mobile data to the secondary SIM.
On the other hand, it is important to mention that this automatic management of SIM cards should not be activated by the user but rather works out of the box on Android 14 when we add two cards in our phone slots.
novelty will alleviate that tedious process of switching between SIM when mobile data is exhausted or there is no coverage. At the moment, it is unknown how it will do this and how often. We will have to wait for the final release of Android 14, which will take place at the end of the year.
