The main wireless features of this new neutral router is the incorporation of Simultaneous dual band with Wi-Fi 6 and AX3000 class. In the 2.4GHz band we can get one speed up to 574Mbpsthanks to its two external antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration, the 40MHz channel width and the Wi-Fi 6 standard. 5GHz band we can get one speed up to 2402Mbpsthanks to its two external antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration, the 1600MHz channel width and the Wi-Fi 6 standard. A very important aspect of this router is that It has 160MHz of channel width to obtain the maximum speed with compatible wireless clients such as the latest smartphones, ultrabooks and other compatible devices.
This model has all the features of the Wi-Fi 6 standard, such as the MU-MIMO and OFDMAjust like him beamforming. In addition, this equipment has the EasyMesh standard to form a mesh network with other devices that also support this standard, so we will have transparent WiFi roaming available to us, as well as band-steering in all nodes. In addition, EasyMesh supports both chain and star networks, and the network will automatically repair itself in the event of one or more nodes failing. Regarding security, it supports both WPA2 and WPA3 to provide the highest possible security for wireless clients.
Regarding the wired network, we have one Gigabit Ethernet port for the WAN of the Internet and a total of 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN. We also have a RESET button to restore the router to factory settings, as well as a WPS/Mesh button to synchronize the different devices automatically.
Some features of the ZTE firmware is that it supports IPv4 and IPv6, we have all the options related to NAT such as port-forwarding and DMZ, as well as the possibility of adding static routes, dynamic DNS, support for IGMP Snooping, as well as a advanced QoS to prioritize certain network traffic, a built-in firewall with protection against DoS attacks, and also allows IP and URL filtering. Finally, to access the firmware we can do it using the ZLife Lite application on smartphones, or by accessing the router administration via the web.
The price of this WiFi router with support for Mesh is 70 euros, a fairly good price considering the specifications, and above all that it supports EasyMesh to increase coverage in our home very easily.
As you can see, this ZTE E1320 model is quite interesting because the price is very cheap, however, there is a clearly better model, the ZTE E3330, which will be on sale very soon.
ZTE E3330
This router is the top of the range of the brand, it is aimed at home users who want to have a very fast wired network to enjoy FTTH connections greater than 1Gbps, as well as a really fast WiFi wireless network. This model is very interesting because it is also compatible with EasyMesh, although it is currently unknown at what price it will be released.
The main wireless features of this new router is that it has Simultaneous dual band with Wi-Fi 6 and AX5400 class. In the 2.4GHz band we can get one speed up to 574Mbpsthanks to its two external antennas in MU-MIMO 2T2R configuration, the 40MHz channel width and the Wi-Fi 6 standard. 5GHz band we can get one speed up to 4804Mbpsthanks to its four external antennas in MU-MIMO 4T4R configuration, to the 1600MHz channel width and to the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Thanks to the 160MHz channel width, we can have twice the speed with the same number of antennas , this is perfect for connecting compatible smartphones and laptops.
How could it be otherwise, this router has MU-MIMO, OFDMA and Beamforming in the wireless network, in addition to EasyMesh to form a complete mesh WiFi network and have maximum speed and user experience. This model also supports WPA2 and WPA3 to provide maximum security for clients.
The wired network consists of a 2.5G Multigigabit port for the Internet WANand we have a total of 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN. An important detail is that we have the possibility of using a Gigabit Ethernet port as WAN, in case you have two Internet operators and do load balancing. In this case, we miss that it does not have a 2.5G Multigigabit port for the LAN, since it would allow us to connect a NAS or PC with this speed, and squeeze the maximum speed of the fiber that connects to the 2.5G port for the WAN.
The firmware characteristics of this router are similar to the previous ones, we have the administration via the web and also with the ZLife Lite app on smartphones. All the options related to the network, NAT, DMZ, QoS and others, are also present in this router model.
Right now it is unknown what the price of this Wi-Fi router with support for Mesh will be, taking into account the specifications, we believe that it will be around 130 euros approximately.
As you can see, this ZTE E3330 model is very interesting for advanced users who need a better WiFi router, perfect for having a seamless wireless network in our home.
ZTE Z1200
ZTE has also launched the Z1200 model, a cheap cube-shaped device that will provide us with good coverage and wireless speed, but we must bear in mind that it is Wi-FI 5 and does not have the improvements of the Wi-FI 6 standard. This model has simultaneous dual band with AC1200 Wi-Fi (up to 300Mbps in the 2.4GHz band and up to 867Mbps in the 5GHz band). It has one Gigabit Ethernet port for the Internet WAN and a total of two Gigabit Ethernet ports for the LAN.
This equipment is quite cheap, since we can buy it for less than €45 per unit, right now we have a total of three packs (with one, two and three units respectively), we can find it on Amazon and also on PcComponentes:
Undoubtedly, the highlight of all these devices is the incorporation of the EasyMesh standard to have a mesh network with transparent WiFi roaming. All ZTE models are compatible with each other, and we can manage the wireless network from the computer that acts as the main router.
Best of all, it is totally “Plug&Play”, since we will not have to make complicated configurations or add them manually, we will simply have to connect it to the electrical current, press the “Mesh” button and it will automatically be added to the mesh network.
