According to information from Mark Gurman published in his latest Power On newsletter, the Cupertino company is considering including a special feature dedicated to public Wi-Fi in iOS 19. This will help simplify login to our devices and will work as follows. We’re less than a month away from learning about Apple’s latest operating system releases.

Apple thinks about users who connect to public networks on their devices

iOS 19 will be one of the most important updates in recent years, and there’s already speculation about some of the features it will include. According to Gurman, this feature will be useful because it will allow information about new public Wi-Fi networks to be synchronized across the entire Apple ecosystem. So if you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even an Apple TV, you won’t have to enter the password for the location on each device. It’s similar to what currently works with home networks. If you connect first on an iPhone or a Mac, regardless of the device, the password will already be active to connect on the next device as long as you have your Apple account on the designated devices.

If you’re not familiar with what Gurman is referring to, it basically allows you to log into the internet faster on all your devices connected to a public Wi-Fi network at a hotel, office, or any other location with this type of network. This is useful, considering that if we have to use multiple devices in one place, we don’t have to waste time entering each character for each device.

Wi-Fi iPhone

A clever feature that rectifies the use of the Apple ecosystem

Just as it’s possible to share passwords with nearby Apple devices when it comes to Wi-Fi, this feature is promising and will be a relief to many travelers or users who are constantly on the go and spend time away from home. We don’t know if Apple has anything else in store in terms of Wi-Fi or connections for iOS 19, but the reality is that any feature from Apple that helps add to an enriching experience is always welcome.

What other features or changes would you like to see in iOS 19 that benefit the Apple ecosystem? One of the rumored changes is a redesign of icons and menus, the first major change in its history in many years. Similar to what we’ve already seen with iOS 18, the Cupertino company owes its users a debt of gratitude regarding Apple Intelligence, so there’s plenty of room for improvement. The conversational Siri we’ve been waiting for since its original launch in 2011, and the integration with other AI models besides ChatGPT.
