When purchasing a new chargermany decide on a double or triple one, thus being able to connect not only the iPhone, but the Apple Watch, their second business phone, or even the laptop, however, you have to be very careful with a factor that nobody counts, and that is very relevant.
And this will determine the type of device we acquire, since there is a wide variety of them, and many do not have this problem, but many others do, and it is likely that once tested you will realize the error, which will no longer have a solution, unless you return it and purchase a better one.
How to choose a good charger
Once we select the number of ports What we look for in a charger, which will depend on the needs of each person, the most important thing will be to look for its power, and we are not talking about the power of each port, since it can be very good, but about the general and total power of the device.
I have had several chargers that offer up to 30W per port, achieving the maximum charging speed of an iPhone, however, the 2 ports offer 30W, and the device has those same 30W as total power. What happens in that case? If we connect two phones, this will be divided into 15W and 15W, making that supposedly fast charger become a slow charging one, and, therefore, of no use to us, at least if the intention is to take advantage of both ports at the same time.
Therefore, when choosing the new product that we are going to buy, we tend to take into account what we are going to connect to it. In my case I use a double one for the Apple Watch and the iPhone, so I will not need more than 35W in total, because the watch barely uses power, however, if I had two iPhone 15 Pro, things change and I would need at least 55W (because they use up to 27W each), and that the ports were 30W each.
In short, double or triple chargers are great, but you won't be able to take advantage of them if you don't choose one correctly. Do not be guided by the power of each port, but by the total, which will be more or less necessary depending on whether you are going to charge a Mac, or just a watch.
As a recommendation, although it will depend on the latter, we leave you here a triple charger, with USB-C and USB-A ports, fast charging, and a maximum power of 65Wwhich can give you two phones and an accessory without problem, with great quality and at a good price. There are cheaper ones, but they possibly have the problem that we have seen today, since it is the way to deceive the user with a false power, which will only work if we use it as a simple one.
And you, did you know this? Had you noticed that your iPhone didn't charge as fast when you connected another device to the same charger, or is this the first time you're hearing this? Leave us a comment about your opinion about it.
