Apple is starting the year with a bang with a nice promotion on the new AirPods Pro 2 USB-C.
Introduced alongside the iPhone 15, the new edition of AirPods Pro 2 features a case with USB-C port, improved dust resistance and compatibility with lossless sound for the Using the Apple Vision Pro headset. Although Apple continues to refer to them as the second generation AirPods Pro, they still represent an evolution in the range.

Changes at the margins
AirPods Pro 2 USB-C have been available since the end of September. If the targeted customers are not specifically those who already have the AirPods Pro 2 Lightning, they still have some arguments to put forward, in addition to the details already seen.
As seen in testing, there is no compelling reason for current second-generation AirPods Pro users to upgrade. The addition of USB-C is convenient, the improved dust resistance is appreciated, and support for lossless audio won’t be fully tested until the Vision Pros are available in the US. United, early 2024. In France, it will probably be in 2025.
For both earbud models, iOS 17 introduces several new features for all AirPods Pro 2, including adaptive audio, conversation awareness, and custom volume. Same with iOS 18.
The rest is identical to the original model (see our test of the AirPods Pro 2), namely a magical experience (connection and switching between devices effortlessly), significantly improved audio quality, greatly improved noise reduction, transparency mode for hear your environment, battery life of almost 30 hours in total, gestures to control volume, playback or even Siri. Let’s not forget four tip sizes and a built-in ring for an optional lanyard.
