Finally, AMD has revealed the RADEON RX 9070 and 9070 XT with full specifications. Eye!
Many expected to see what performance AMD took out in these GPUS that they have so much Hype because they will be the spearhead of all RDNA 4. Naming changed, new architecture, FSR 4 … many changes from one generation to another. Let's see what specifications have they present!

The great change offered by the XT model is 500 MHz faster and 64 computer units that transform into a consumption of almost 100 w more and a recommended source of 100 w superior. Two notes I want to do:
- There are no longer «Ray Accelerators» -> Now they are called RT Accelerators.
- Both exceed the RTX 5070 and 5070 TI tops respectively.
As always, they paint very well on paper. AMD will keep the RX 7900 XT and XTX for 4K, while RX 9070 are focused on QHD and 4K as an intermediate path between them and the RX 7900 GRE.
Expected Amd Radeon RX 9070 performance
Starting with RX 9070, they say it will give 38% more yield than an RX 6800 XT in 4K in more than 30 games; Regarding an RTX 3080, the difference goes to 26% more.
They have advanced to your questions, and have compared this RX 9070 (it will have a similar price) with the RX 7900 GRE in 4K with all ultra adjustments. We see yield differences of up to 28% in native, while the Ray Tracing the increase in FPS goes to 34% in F1 24 and 33% in Cyberpunk 2077. Little joke, eh! They have done the same in QHD and we see lower differences in rake, but in Ray Tracing almost 38% is triggered.
Going to the AMD RX 9070 XT, the difference is brutal:
- 51% performance more than an RX 6900 XT with all ultra.
- 26% performance more than an RTX 3090
They have compared it with RX 7900 GRE, for me they have been wrong: it had to be compared with RX 7900 XT. Do not worry because in our reviews everything will look clear because we will try all.
Price and launch of RX 9070 and 9070 xt
AMD confirms that the launch of RX 9070 and 9070 XT will be March 6, 2025 with “wide availability” by Acer, Asrock, Gigabyte, Asus, PowerColor, Sapphire, Yeston, XFX and Vastarm.
