Apple appears to be preparing for the release of iOS 18.2.1, based on analytics log data from several websites this week. Like our colleagues from MacRumorsour server logs revealed the existence of a version not yet announced by the Cupertino company, which will be placed between iOS 18.2 and iOS 18.3.
A minor version
As the number suggests, iOS 18.2.1 is expected to be a minor update, focused on bug fixes and security improvements. However, we don’t yet know exactly what issues it’s focusing on, as there isn’t a lot of negative feedback on iOS 18.2. We hope, however, that the screen time bug will be resolved. The update is expected to arrive in late December or early January.
Beyond iOS, Apple will certainly offer updates to iPadOS 18.2.1, macOS 15.2.1, watchOS 11.2.1 and company.
The latest version
This update will therefore follow iOS 18.2, which was released earlier this month. iOS 18.2 introduced several new features, including expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models. New features include Genmoji, Image Playground, Siri integration with ChatGPT, and a new Find My feature that lets users to share the location of bags equipped with AirTags with certain airlines like Delta, United and Air Canada. This feature helps simplify the process of locating lost or delayed baggage.
Additionally, Apple is actively testing iOS 18.3 with developers and public beta testers. This update, which is expected to arrive at the end of January, only appears to include minor changes at this point.
