Although months ago it seemed like a very complicated project, everything indicates that the rumors are increasingly true, and that some Apple Glasses would arrive in a very short timeachieving something that, until now, we have not seen, at least from Apple.
They would have nothing to do with the Vision Pro, since, despite being glasses, they would not work in the same way, and would even be intended as a substitute for the glasses themselves worn by people with vision problems, as they are not so heavy. Of course, with a lot of technology inside.
Apple Glasses: what they could bring
It looks like Apple's smart glasses could be more real than we think. I'm not talking about a big helmet or a strange experiment: the idea would be something light, usable every day and with functions that really help, not just technological posturing.
In the center there would be a small and efficient chip (think of something like the Apple Watch chips) that moves everything without eating up the battery. That brain would allow you to use several front cameras to analyze what you look at and give you information instantly: translations, names, addresses or data about a place without having to take out your phone.
Siri would be the main interface: voice control for everythingfrom asking for directions to reading messages. In addition, there would be integrated microphones and speakers for calls and notifications without depending on headphones. It wouldn't be a giant screen in front of your eyes like the Vision Pro, but rather small visual clues and audible warnings with which to understand it.
Another key point is “visual intelligence”: lThe glasses would understand scenes, objects and textand they could show it to you in a way adapted to that moment. Imagine being shown the correct exit at a station or having a sign translated without you lifting a finger. Full compatibility with the iPhone and the rest of the ecosystem is also rumored, so that synchronizing notifications, maps or music is automatic. That is, if you receive a WhatsApp, you could see it without taking out your cell phone.
In addition, these glasses are expected to not only have Apple's internal technology, but options such as prescription lenses, a discreet design, and basic health or monitoring functions (without turning them into a medical wearable), perfect as an alternative to the usual ones, without looking like we are wearing something “strange” on our heads, attracting attention. What remains up in the air is battery, price and if they will really be comfortable all day, although this is something that we hope Apple takes into account, and does not make us something annoying.
In short, if Apple gets the balance between utility, autonomy and design right, its glasses could be that daily accessory that makes life a little easier without looking like a gadget from the future. Surely people start using them even though they don't need them. If they make them really worth it, and their price is not crazy, we could start to see people change their myopia glasses for these Apple ones, since, by the way, they need to wear them all day, they can at least call with them, or translate a sign that they don't understand, right?
And you, what do you think of all this? Will it be a product that we will all end up having, or a simple toy like the Vision Pro, which will eventually go out of style and will only be useful at certain specific times and for a specific type of person? Leave us a comment with your opinion.
