Apple launched the new AirPods 4 this week, which come with notable improvements like active noise cancellation on the most expensive variant. At the same time, the company has also started selling refurbished AirPods Pro 2 USB-C in the US. These refurbished earbuds are offered at the price of $209compared to $249 for a new pair. In France, Apple does not yet offer this option and sells its headphones for €279.
A new product on the refurb
The second-generation AirPods Pro were updated in September 2023, including a USB-C case, IP54 dust resistance for the earbuds and case, and support for lossless audio with the Vision Pro headphones. The rest is unchanged from the AirPods Pro 2 Lightning, namely very pleasant sound quality, deep bass, twice the reduction of the first model and an overall battery life of 30 hours.
Almost a year later, Apple’s best-selling headphones are seeing their prices drop thanks to refurbs.
If you are in France, you should know that you can find the brand’s best performing headphones on sale on Amazon. The variant with USB-c case is at only €229.
The promises of refurb
These are used headphones that have been checked and refurbished. Apple changes the cases and battery, among other things.
Apple says it subjects refurbished products to “extensive functionality testing” and a “thorough cleaning and inspection process,” and they are covered by Apple’s one-year limited warranty and eligible for extended AppleCare+ coverage.
