Apple has drawn a new beta version of the firmware for the Airpods Pro 2 models and the AirPods 4, and they can already try both developers and those who are pointed to the public beta. To install it, you need to have iOS 26, iPados 26 or Tahoe 26 macOS on your device.

How to install beta firmware in the airpods

If you want to try the new beta functions in your Airpods Pro 2 or Airpods 4, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your device has one of the following systems installed:
    • iOS 26 (on iPhone)
    • Ipados 26 (on iPad)
    • Macos Tahoe 26 (in Mac)
  2. Connect your airpods compatible to the iPhone, iPad or Mac.
  3. Go to the Bluetooth settings In the connected device.
  4. Look for the option “Airpods Beta Updates” and act it.
  5. Once activated, the beta firmware will be downloaded and install automatically when:
    • The airpods are close to the device.
    • Are inside your load case.
    • The case is connected to a Wi -Fi network.

Remember that, as we have commented, this is done automatically when you have drums and you are connected by Wi-Fi, so, normally, you will always have the latest version if you usually use them regularly, although in the case of betas, such as the one we are commenting on today, they will need that, at least, we force it manually, since it will only automatically install, the public and tested.

So nothing, if you are a common user, and you do not like betas, you must wait for September, with the official departure of the new systems. However, if you already have iOS 26 and want to try the new, how to take photos playing the AirPods at a distance, you can do it in a very simple way.
