Apple has just revealed the new, more compact Mac mini 2024, which offers M4 and M4 Pro chip options. The redesigned model measures just 5×5 inches (12.7 cm), making it significantly smaller than its predecessor. But to better understand this, Apple has published a “keynote” type video which allows you to learn more about this future best-seller, the price of which starts at €699.
A new video
After the iMac M4 yesterday, in a new typically Apple video, led by the company’s senior vice-president (and future CEO?), John Ternus, we discover the design of the new Mac mini M4, slightly thicker but 5 cm less long and wide. And for the first time, the new Mac mini includes ports on the front and back of the chassis.
Beyond its new look, the Mac mini offers impressive performance. As we say at home, small but strong. Apple skipped the M3 chip for this model, with the latter being powered by the M2 Pro. The Mac mini M4 is up to twice as fast in CPU and GPU, depending on use cases, a very significant gap between two computers separated by barely eighteen months. Everything is complemented by Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI 2.1 and more.

The price of the Mac mini M4
The new Mac mini starts at €699 on Apple’s websitewith 16 GB of RAM included as standard, and is available for pre-order now. Prices skyrocket quickly by adding RAM, SSD or the M4 Pro chip with 12 CPU cores (14 optional).
Apple concluded the video by hinting that there would be “more news tomorrow.” It will obviously be the turn of the MacBook Pro M4 with its standard, Pro and Max variants. The M4 Max chip will also make its first appearance. Stick around.
