The Cupertino company has just made the third beta of iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 available to developersjust a week after Apple released the second beta. For those who already have an active developer profile, it’s a matter of updating from the Settings app in the Software Update section.

Apple continues the beta cycle with iOS 18.5

iOS 18.5 appears to be a minor update compared to the previous iOS 18 updates, which included significant new features. Some changes already seen in previous betas include changes to the Mail app and easier access to your device’s AppleCare information. It’s also expected to include a long list of bug fixes and performance improvements to the operating system. We’ve summarized them below:

  • In Mail, you can now select All Mail to view your messages without categories, and you can also show or hide contact photos. You can also disable or enable message groups based on specific senders.
  • A new AppleCare banner will appear in the Settings app, making it easier to check your device’s warranty status. Previously, it was located in the General section.

Install the latest beta on your device

It’s now easier than ever to install a beta version on your device, although we need to be clear about one thing before proceeding. Being a beta version, it won’t be bug-free, and you may experience some issues during your final experience. So, you’ll have to decide whether to install it or not. Once you’re aware of this, we’ll show you how to install an iOS beta version on your iPhone.

  1. You need to sync your account with the Apple Developer Program
  2. Go to Settings on your iPhone in the General section
  3. Go to Software Update, and then Beta Updates will appear.
  4. Select the iOS 18 Developer Beta profile
  5. Download and install the current beta of iOS 18.5.

The iOS and iPadOS betas don’t come alone; macOS 15.3, watchOS 11.5, tvOS 18.5, and visionOS 2.5 beta 3 have also been released. We’ll update this article if anything new or important is reported in iOS 18.5 beta 3. What new features are you looking forward to from those seen so far?
