In a world where technological secrets are difficult to preserve, brands cannot afford any mistakes. Apple, usually impeccable in this area, has this time made a mistake. The latest macOS update clearly reveals references to the upcoming MacBook Air M4.
The dumpling
Rarely, Apple seems to have made a mistake with its new macOS update released this evening. Two new references, “Mac16.12” and “Mac16.13”, appear in the macOS Sequoia 15.2 update, clearly announcing the upcoming arrival of the MacBook Air M4 in 13 and 15 inch versions.
Between us, this is not surprising. Mark Gurman had already mentioned a release in early 2025, and the MacBook Air M4 was expected after the launch of the MacBook Pro M4 on November 8, only a month ago. If you are considering changing your MacBook Air, we recommend that you wait a few more months.
The MacBook Air M3 arrived in March 2024, and its successor, the MacBook Air M4, is expected to be released almost a year later. As is often the case in recent years, Apple has not planned any major external changes. However, the interior is expected to be beefed up with the new M4 chip and 16GB of base RAM to better support Apple Intelligence in the coming years.
