Assembling a PC involves dealing with a large number of cables, cables that must be arranged in an orderly manner inside the PC, not only to avoid affecting the functioning of the components, but also to ensure an attractive aesthetic, as long as we like to show off the inside of our PC.
This task is only possible using PC cases and components designed specifically for this purpose, such as those offered by ASUS with its Back To the Future line, also known as BTF. This veteran manufacturer of laptops, accessories, components, and PC peripherals has just introduced the ASUS A31 case, part of the BTF series and allowing you to build a PC without any visible cables.
New ASUS BTF case
This new case is designed to use motherboards, such as the recently introduced TUF GAMING B850-BTF WIFI W for AMD processors (and those already offered compatible with Intel processors) that include the connectors on the back of the board, where the power supply cables are connected and from where the rest of the cables necessary to operate the rest of the components such as fans and storage units mainly come out.
BFT motherboards include a power connector next to the PCIe port for graphics cards, so there’s no need to run a power cable from the rear, hiding the most aesthetically unsightly cable on any PC. Obviously, the graphics card must be compatible with the BTF series. If it’s not compatible, a cable from the power supply to the graphics card will be required.
As we can see in the images in this article, this is a fishbowl-style case, with tempered glass on the side and front panels, offering a perfect view of the case’s interior. This model is compatible with 360° AIO cooling systems with thicker radiators and fans. In addition to an AIO system, it also allows for the addition of up to seven 120mm fans .
Obviously, it is compatible with the new NVIDIA RTX 50 graphics since the space reserved for the graphics card reaches up to 380 mm while the maximum height of the processor heatsink is 165 mm.
Continuing with the front connection panel, this model features two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, and a microphone and headphone jack. It’s compatible with ATX motherboards and below, weighs 8.2 kg, and has dimensions of 238 x 511 x 435 mm.
This case has been specifically designed to be compatible with BTF components, although we can also use it with any other type of motherboard, although this doesn’t make sense unless we intend to gradually renew our PC to make the necessary investment less painful.
Price and availability
This new ASUS case is now available in the United States for $110, a price roughly similar to what it will likely be when it arrives in Europe, a date that has not yet been announced. The ASUS A31 case is available in black and white.
