In 2024, moviegoers got what they paid for. In the dark rooms, we were amazed, we laughed, we cried, we were afraid, we were stressed, we were amazed… Moreover, our favorites of the year are discover it right here.
But what about 2025? Good news: there are many films that tickle our curiosity planned in cinemas in France. This new year should still be pleasant for fans of cinemas. We take stock of the big cinema releases of 2025.
Mickey 17
Certainly, Bong Joon-ho’s new film (Parasite) is long overdue. While it was expected in 2024, the film has only been postponed. Expected at the end of January 2025, its release is (again) postponed and finally set for April 16. Hoping that she doesn’t move until then… But we believe it, this wait is worth it.
Directed by Robert Pattinson, this feature film invites us to meet Mickey, for whom dying is second nature. Indeed, he is a “consumable”, namely a person who volunteers to test the dangers to which humanity is subjected. When he dies, it is not a big deal since he is regenerated in a new body with most of his memories. Yes, but… When two of its versions find themselves coexisting, it’s chaos.
In our eyes, Mickey 17 is not only THE most anticipated science fiction film of 2025 but the most anticipated film of the year altogether. With an excellent director at the helm, an immaculate cast (Robert Pattinson is a far cry from Edward in the saga Twilight) and a particularly intriguing scenario, Mickey 17 has all the cards in hand to make a hit.
Avatar 3
Yes, we’re almost there. As expected, James Cameron will offer us the sequel toAvatar in 2025. But we will have to be patient since Avatar: Fire and Ash will be released on December 17, 2025 in cinemas.
After a masterful return in 2022, moviegoers can’t wait to return to Pandora and take in the sights. In all likelihood, this third opus should introduce us to the fire people of the planet Pandora. And we can’t wait to see it!

Superman
The trailer that shook the web at the end of the year. On the DC side, Superman is back through the eyes of James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy. To play the superhero, the filmmaker is banking on David Corenswet (The Politician).
Superman promises optimism and hope in Metropolis, far from the darkness proposed by Zack Snyder. This feature film is expected at the turning point since it should open a new chapter and allow us to reconnect with DC in theaters. In this sense, the first trailer for Superman is the most viewed in DC and Warner Bros. history. Not bad… See you on June 19, 2025 at the cinema.
Wicked: For Good

After the pleasant surprise of Wickedall you have to do is wait patiently until November 26 to discover the conclusion of the musical comedy taken from Wizard of Oz. While the film worn by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande seduced the spectators, it left us with an avalanche of questions. Now that Elphaba’s fate seems sealed and she is singled out as the terrible Witch of the West, what will happen to her?
Unless we look for the answers on the boards in London (or New York), Universal Pictures will give them to us on November 26, 2025. We already know that two new songs have been imagined for this second part.
Elio
Pixar fans, you will be served with Elio. In this thrilling new animated film, we follow a boy with a wild imagination and a passion for aliens. But when he accidentally finds himself in the Communiverse, an interplanetary paradise housing intelligent life forms from the most distant galaxies, everything changes. The boy is mistaken for Earth’s ambassador. He will have to face a series of unexpected trials to get out of this cosmic mess. What if it’s like he’s discovering who he’s really meant to be?
Just with the trailer forEliowe have our heads in the stars. Looking forward to this intergalactic adventure. It’s happening on June 18 in cinemas in France.
The Bride!

Christian Bale likes to give of himself for his roles. In The Bride!the actor doesn’t do things by halves since he is (still) transformed and almost unrecognizable. In this remake of The Bride of Frankensteinhe plays the famous monster who would like a little company. With the help of Doctor Euphronius, he brings a murdered young woman back to life. Without much surprise, the result of their “operation” will exceed the two men. Far from being a very docile lamb, the young woman intends to live her own experiences, both romantic and socio-political. Something to remind us of the excellent Poor Creatures. We believe in it.
In addition to Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley (The Lost Daughter), Penélope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) and Peter Sarsgaard (Memory) are starring in this film. As for the director, Maggie Gyllenhaal, stood out with The Lost Daughter. His first film was awarded at the Venice Film Festival in 2021 for its screenplay, while it received several nominations at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
Captain America: Brave New World
To celebrate the new year, Marvel is giving us Captain America: Brave New World. Despite numerous box office struggles over the past few months, this new feature film looks promising. Perfect to conclude the painful phase 5 of the MCU?
The Captain America so beloved by spectators is no more, it is Falcon who takes up the torch. With Captain America: Brave New WorldMarvel hopes to go big and regain the love of spectators. If the film promises a lot of action (and a hint of fan service, obviously), it should tend towards a political thriller. Which could be a great idea. Verdict on February 12, 2025.
