Very recently, we learned of the passage of the essential Jacquie et Michel under the American flag. In fact, it is now an American fund, namely JETM Technology Solutions Limited Liability Company (or LLC), which will be responsible for managing the famous French brand. Today, and like other online platforms, it is Pornhub which has delivered its annual activity report. A sort of Spotify Wrapped therefore, but dedicated exclusively to the adult video platform.
France, European champion of Pornhub!
And in 2024, it is a small event for our nation, since France has become the European champion of Pornhub. Indeed, regarding the top 20 countries most addicted to Pornhub, we of course find the United States in first position, but it is France which occupies second place, thus gaining a position compared to last year, at the expense of the Philippines.
Indeed, in 2023 (as in 2022), France occupied third place in this same ranking. But what happened in 2024 to allow our country to gain a position? According to some, this increase in traffic could be to the credit of… the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Indeed, the event allowed a large number of foreign athletes and tourists to come to our country.
The ranking put online by Pornhub also shows that the query “French” also exploded, with an increase of 104% in the global search rankings, reaching 15th position. In France, the term “French” is obviously at the top of the requests, with the added bonus of an increase of more than 1,000% in 2024.
On the support side, it is obviously our precious smartphones which are most used to surf the famous adult video platform. In total, more than 90% of Pornhub traffic comes from smartphones, and around 8% from desktop computers, with the rest (around 1.5%) being allocated to tablets. The average time spent on the site has declined slightly, reaching 9 minutes and 40 seconds in 2024.
Finally, let’s point out that the section dedicated to vertical videos has also experienced enormous growth on Pornhub, with an increase of almost 400%. A format that has been particularly popular for several years now on social networks (notably TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram) and which is therefore also enjoying great success on the adult video market.
