Last week we had a very nice long weekend in the Community of Madrid, and I had the brilliant idea of spending my time talking to Siri. Or rather, I decided not to spend my time using my iPhone and let Siri make my decisions for the entire day. The result? You’ll be surprised.

Most users, due to Siri’s current limitations, only use the assistant to set timers, create reminders, or check the weather. However, I lost my mind and decided to let it take control of my life for 24 hours.

I used Siri for a whole day: what happened?

The experiment was simple: for an entire day, I wouldn’t make any decisions on my own without first asking Siri. What should I have for breakfast? Should I go for a walk or play paddle tennis, or should I stay home? Should I reply to that message or ignore it? Everything would go through its “intelligence filter.”

The first thing I did was set up my iPhone so Siri was as accessible as possible. I activated Constant Voice mode, disabled silly restrictions, and armed myself with patience. When my alarm went off at 8:30, I didn’t turn it off. I asked Siri, “Should I get up or sleep for 10 more minutes?” Her response was blunt: “Sleeping 10 more minutes can affect your productivity. I recommend getting up now .” Her first stroke of authority. I leapt to my feet, giggling at her straightforward answer.

I went to the kitchen and asked what I should have for breakfast. “ I suggest oatmeal with fruit. It’s a healthy way to start the day.” Well, I had to skip my traditional avocado toast with turkey and tomato for the day. Luckily, I had oatmeal at home.

Next came the clothes. “What should I wear today, Siri?” To which she replied in a cold but practical tone: “Check the weather forecast: today it’s 17 degrees with a chance of rain. I recommend a light jacket and waterproof shoes.” Siri’s voice seemed to have more common sense than I did, because I was planning to go out without a raincoat to pick up a package.

Things got complicated when I started working. I had to write an article, but I was unsure which of the three topics to cover. I asked Siri, “Which of these topics is best for Google Discover today?” To which she replied, “Sorry, I can’t help you with that.” First refusal.

The real chaos came at noon. “Should I order food or cook something?” And Siri, with her relentless efficiency: “Cooking at home is usually healthier and cheaper.” But she didn’t tell me what I could cook. When I tried to get her to choose between pasta and rice, she replied: “Both are valid options. It depends on your nutritional preferences.” So, she’s washed her hands of it here. Sorry, Siri, I made chicken tenders with peas.

I tried to make his afternoon more complicated: “Should I exercise now or take a break?” To which he replied: “Exercise improves your physical and mental health. I recommend a 30-minute walk.” I obeyed. I went for a walk, along with my camera.

With the night came the ultimate test: “Should I watch a series or read a book?” He replied: “Reading stimulates your mind and improves your concentration. I recommend spending 30 minutes reading before bed.” Advice worthy of a therapist.
