Apple Intelligence is maximized
The integration of Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.2 offers advanced tools such as Genmoji and Image Playground, two functions that promise to be user favorites. Genmoji allows you to create personalized emojis from your photos and preferences. For its part, Image Playground offers the possibility of generate images stylized from prompts or instructions that you can dictate. This feature is not only available in the Image Playground app, but is also integrated into Messages, making it easy to send custom images directly to your contacts.
Another interesting novelty is Image Wand, a tool available in the Notes application for iPad users, which allows make quick sketches with the Apple Pencil and turn them into more elaborate illustrations.
Siri and ChatGPT: boosting responses
The update also marks a major change to Siri, which can now integrate with ChatGPT. This new feature is optional and allows Siri refer queries to ChatGPT when more detailed or specific information is required. Additionally, you can activate the option so that Siri does not ask your permission every time it needs to consult ChatGPT. ChatGPT’s integration with Siri promises to make responses more complete and can include both text and images, thus improving the assistant’s overall functionality.
With Visual Intelligence, iPhone 16 users can identify objects and places around just with the camera. The feature recognizes establishments, such as restaurants, and offers options to view reviews or search for information online in real time. You can also use the camera to copy text, perform quick searches, and even get ChatGPT responses about the objects you’re viewing.
Writing and language improvements
For writers or those who rely on editing tools, the Rewrite Writing Tools feature has removed previous limitations and now allows customize the tone or style of the texts. From adding dynamism or professionalism to an email to turning a text into a poem, everything will be possible.
Additionally, Apple Intelligence expands its language support in iOS 18.2, now allowing the use of English in countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Let’s remember that in Spain all these functions will not yet be available, unless you have a Mac and configure it in English.
Other news: Apple Arcade, Mail, and more
The iOS 18.2 update also improves Apple Arcade, with new filter options in the “All Games” section and the ability to disable game previews. In the Mail app, categories have been added for organize emails important messages, promotions, newsletters and more, helping users better classify their messages.
In Find My, it’s now possible to share the location of a lost item with a trusted person or airline, and the option is supported on non-Apple devices. Regarding security settings, a notice has been added to Safari that alerts when a connection is not secure.
