iphone se 4 iconApple is preparing to renew its range of affordable iPhones with the iPhone SE 4, whose photo module production will begin in December at LG Innotek. This new generation promises significant improvements compared to its predecessor, particularly in terms of photography.

A major technological leap

According to the latest rumors, the iPhone SE 4 will mark a significant break with previous generations. While the iPhone SE 3 was equipped with a 12 megapixel photo sensor, the new model will benefit from a 48 megapixel module, similar to that of the iPhone 14. This considerable improvement should offer image quality significantly superior to the users.

The overall design of the smartphone will also be inspired by the iPhone 14, abandoning the compact format inherited from the iPhone 8. A first in the SE range: the device will integrate Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence features, thus marking the entry of AI into Apple’s affordable range.

Strategic production for LG Innotek

Production of the photo modules will be carried out by the Vietnamese factory of LG Innotek, which specializes in mid-range components. This decision is part of a broader strategy of the company, which reserves its Korean production for high-end components requiring advanced technologies. Thus, the geographical diversity of components – dear to Apple – is ensured.

The iPhone SE 4 is scheduled to go on sale in March 2024, following the usual production schedule which starts three months before launch. For LG Innotek, which experienced a 28.9% drop in operating profit in the third quarter of 2023, this new contract represents an opportunity for financial recovery, recalling the success of the iPhone SE 3 which had contributed to results record in 2022.
