It’s no secret that Apple is working on a new generation of Vision Pro , the mixed reality glasses that were unveiled at WWDC 23 . While they are not being a sales success, in fact in recent months they have plummeted further, to the point that Apple has decided to temporarily end production , everything seems to indicate that production of Apple Vision Pro 2 would have begun , although those in Cupertino have not said anything about it.
Mark Gurman has published a post on Bloomberg where he talks about Apple Vision Pro 2 and shares a couple of very interesting things. As a preview, we’ll say that these are two improvements that, if confirmed, will be welcomed by many users , especially those who use these mixed reality headsets for work.
Better connectivity and a lighter headband with headphones
Among the improvements this new generation of Vision Pro will feature, two stand out: a new ultra-low-latency wireless connection and a lighter, cheaper headband . But that’s not all; according to Gurman, Apple is also working on another Vision Pro model that will connect via cable. Nothing is official about all of this, but where there’s a sound, there’s a sound.
Regarding the first point we discussed, Gurman comments that Apple’s idea is to create an ultra-low latency system that allows a Mac’s display to be transmitted to the glasses, which would allow for better work with business applications . This would undoubtedly offer a more satisfying user experience, regardless of the application.
Apple Vision Pro 2 still has no presentation date, but who knows, maybe they will present these new mixed reality glasses at WWDC 2025, which will take place the week of June 9. At this event, Apple is expected to talk about iOS 19, VisionOS, iPadOS 19, tvOS 19, watchOS 12, and macOS 16. Luckily, there isn’t much time left to find out about all the new features that will arrive soon. A few months later, in September, it will be the turn of the iPhone 17. Therefore, some very busy months await us.
