The “MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase” brings the micro moon to the wrist in a big way.
The “Pink Moon” is a rarity this April – small, pale, almost invisible. But Swatch is bringing it down to earth, or more precisely, to your wrist as the “MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase.” The inspiration comes from a rare celestial event: the full moon in April this year appears as a so-called micromoon, as it is at its farthest point from Earth and therefore appears smaller and paler than usual. This contrast between celestial distance and earthly presence is reflected in the design of the new “MoonSwatch.” Visually, the model remains true to the typical Bioceramic case structure, but opts for a striking combination of pink and black. The central eye-catcher is the moon phase display on the subdial at two o’clock. Two pink moons rotate there and are coated with Super-LumiNova, so they glow in the dark. A detail with a surprising effect: Under UV light, the lettering “Pink Moon” appears on the moon phase mask – another example of the playful attention to detail that Swatch cultivates in this series. Technically, the watch remains true to the line: the moon phase display can be adjusted using the crown and a pusher at four o’clock. The dial is complemented by a pulsometer scale on the bezel, a detail reminiscent of classic “Speedmaster” models. This scale allows the wearer to measure their own heart rate: after 30 pulse beats, the chronograph is stopped, and the scale displays the pulse in beats per minute. Another detail is the enhancement of the pusher at two o’clock with a small, pink heart – a symbolic reference to the function of the pulsometer scale.

With the “MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase,” Swatch remains true to the universe – and its successful formula: reinterpreting iconic designs, adding a touch of humor, and making them accessible to a wider audience. Speaking of accessible: fans can only purchase the timepiece for a limited time. Sales begin on April 1st and are available only at select Swatch retail outlets, specifically those featuring a miniature pink Rolling Planet (a miniature car).
