Today I’m going to tell you about my experience with it, what I can do from my iPhone, and what tools it includes that I didn’t even know existed, since the truth is that for the price it has, I wouldn’t hesitate to use it again. Buy it if I need it.
Open door with iPhone and Ring
To do this we will only need a compatible phone (can be seen on the product website on Amazon), an iPhone, and a simple installation of it. From that moment, we can open our home portal with the phonewithout having to ring the doorbell or press the button.
Among its main characteristics, one that has caught my attention and I did not have it, is the possibility of answer calls without being at home or simply without leaving the bed, because a kind of “call” will come to the iPhone, you can answer it and if you need to open the portal, since for example it is the postman, you can do it with a button, whether you are lying in your room or at 1,000 km away.
Another tool that I really like is the opening widget, because you can have it on your iPhone main screen, and when you approach your portal, press it to open the door without having to take the keys out of your pocket or simply forgetting. If you are at home, nothing will happen, at least you can open this door as long as you have battery power on your phone.
The price is currently 99 euros, although we can find it around 35 euros at different times of the year such as Black Friday, Prime Days, or simply in random offers, so its cost is relatively low, at least for what it offers us.
In my case, I also have a smart lock on the main door of my home, so since I use Ring I don’t need to go out with the keys, and the best thing of all is that if someone calls me, I can answer them, something that even It works for emergency situations, since you can contact your partner or a family member (in case they also download the app) through the phone as if it were a phone call, in case you lose yours or don’t know how locate that person, who He will pick up your call even if he is not at home.
In the same way, we can open the door by telling Alexa (if you have an Echo), and she can open the door or simply notify us when they are calling, a good way to always listen to the delivery person, and not miss a delivery of package for this, since our iPhone and all the Echoes that we have in the home associated with the Ring will begin to ring.
