Apple has rolled out a Release Candidate (RC) update to its operating systems, including iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2, tvOS 18.2, and HomePod 18.2 software, introducing sophisticated natural language search functionality to Apple Music and Apple TV. This makes it easier to discover new content.

Natural language search in Apple TV allows users to search for content using phrases like “natural disaster movies,” “cat movies,” “Margot Robbie movies,” or “90s thriller movies » now generate personalized results.
Apple Music app
On Apple Music, the novelty expands the capabilities of searching for music based on themes such as genres, moods, activities and periods. For example, you can ask for “songs about cats”, “songs that create an atmosphere but not RAP”, “relaxing music” or even “artists similar to Orelsan”.
HomePod integration
To make matters worse, Siri on HomePod now includes this natural language search for Apple Music, allowing for voice-activated music selection based on mood or activity, similar to its functionality on other Apple devices .
These updates are expected to be available to the public next week with iOS 18.2 in final release, improving user interaction with Apple’s digital content platforms.
