If you have a iPhone 15 Pro or higheramong its options is the space video recordingHowever, due to weight, or simply because we do not have Vision Pro, we do not use this format, something that we may regret in the future, and today we are going to see the reason for this.
For the past year, these phones have allowed spatial recording, a format that allows us to play a video as if we were inside it. However, to play it, we will not be able to use the iPhone itself; instead, we will need to own a Vision Pro model, which, due to its price, many think (or believe) they will never have.
Why record in spatial video mode
One of the reasons why we should record in this mode is because We will all have Vision Pro in the futureand even though many people think it is impossible for them to buy them, because of the price, it will be ridiculous after a decade. However, why should I record in this format now if I won’t have one in 10 years? Very simply, it’s as if you hadn’t recorded anything on VHS 20 years ago because it would no longer be useful. I’m sure that today you like to watch your childhood memories. The same will happen in a few years, when you can reproduce what you did in 2024 as if you were living it again.
Of course, not all videos will have to be in this format, but if you have gone to a new country this summer, or you have a baby at home, I’m sure you’d like to remember it in a space video the day you get some glasses, and let’s not even talk about people or pets that won’t be with us in 20 years. Being able to watch this type of video again in this format is crazy, and you probably don’t record it like this because you don’t know what it looks like, but if you listen to me, from now on, every time you take out your phone to record something important, activate the spatial optionIt doesn’t cost you anything, and one day you’ll thank me.
How to record space video
- Open the Camera app on the compatible iPhone
- Select Video mode, then rotate iPhone to landscape mode.
- Tap the crossed-out glasses icon, then tap the record button or press either of the volume buttons to start recording. For best results, do the following while recording:
- Keep iPhone stable and level.
- Frame your subjects at a distance of between 1 and 3 meters from the camera.
- Use lighting that is even and bright.
- Tap the record button or press either volume button to stop recording.
- Tap the yellow button on the glasses to turn off space video recording.
That’s it! Your video will be recorded in this format and you can play it normally on your iPhone, but in the spatial format for when you use glasses or other equipment that can support it.
