A workstation, keyboard and trackpad, all in an A4 format pocket. This is Logitech’s promise with the Casa Pop-up. Launched in September 2024, this accessory is aimed at teleworkers looking for a compact and discreet setup.

Even though we usually have a fully equipped office, we abandoned it for a few weeks to test this Casa Pop-up. So conquered?

The Pressed Test is the new lemon squeezer test format. We talk about products that we found original but which do not require in-depth testing. The Casa Pop-up is the perfect example of what you will find in this new format.

The concept is a big yes

Not everyone is lucky enough to live in a home large enough to set up a complete teleworking office. In large cities, it is even common not to be able to integrate an office into your living space. In this case, the kitchen or dining room table does the job very well.

Well almost. In this environment, we tend to put our computer on the work surface and off we go! We then adopt postures that can hurt our necks or backs, which, in the long term, can lead to more restrictive or even chronic illnesses.

For these profiles of teleworkers (or students with comfortable finances), Logitech therefore created Casa Pop-up. The concept of this accessory like no other is quite simple: in a small A4-sized pouch, barely thicker than a paperback book, hides a Logitech keyboard, a trackpad and a USB-C cable.

The pouch unfolds to transform into a computer support. With 13” or 15” machines, the support is very comfortable. Unfortunately, our 16” and 17” models had more difficulty holding on. The support is strong enough to accommodate them, but the thickness of some machines can cause them to slide off the base. Fortunately, computers of this size are not the best-selling.

Once the work is finished, we repack everything and store the pouch in your bookcase or a drawer. The kitchen or dining room table regains all its shine. This unique concept is so practical that one wonders how prop makers didn’t think of it sooner. As someone else would say: “I buy!”.

Keyboard and trackpad: Logitech quality in a compact format

The Casa Pop-up therefore contains a keyboard and a trackpad. Both accessories are distinguished by their compact format. The keyboard is barely larger than that of an iPad Pro, the trackpad is undoubtedly the smallest we have ever tested. Mouse enthusiasts can rest assured, they can easily swap the trackpad for a compact mouse. Logitech also offers excellent ones in its catalog.

But since the prop maker’s proposal is based on a trackpad, that’s what we used. And we were not disappointed. Contrary to what one might imagine, its compact format poses no limits to everyday life. Very responsive, it allows fluid navigation and its clear clicks are satisfactory.

The keyboard is just as comfortable. If it does not rise to the level of the MX range (Logitech’s top of the range), it allows fast and pleasant typing on a daily basis. Also, it will perfectly meet the needs of any teleworker, especially since it can pair with three different devices and switch from one to the other using a dedicated button.

However, we must note two limitations which could upset some: the keyboard is not backlit and the function keys (F1, F2…) are only half keys. They are therefore sometimes difficult to reach. The price of compactness.

Finally, Logitech makes these two accessories compatible with its Logi+ software. The latter allows you to personalize the keyboard keys as well as the trackpad gestures. Mac regulars can therefore configure the sliding gestures that they usually use on their machine.

Our opinion on the Casa Pop-up

The Casa Pop-up is the pleasant surprise of the 2024 school year. This accessory is a summary of all of Logitech’s know-how and philosophy: creating accessories that make everyday work more pleasant while improving productivity.

Not only is the concept of Casa Pop-up original and extremely effective, but the accessories provided are of excellent quality. Obviously, such a proposal has a price. The Casa Pop-up is available in black, white or pink at a price of 199 euros. A small budget all the same.
