The truth is, it was taking a long time to arrive because we’re already in May and we had no news of the games Sony was going to give away to everyone with its cheapest subscription, the essential PS Plus subscription, the one that gives away games that we’ll keep in our library forever. However, if you have Extra or Premium, you’ll also benefit, so we’re bringing you the three games we can enjoy almost immediately, which incorporate one of the best releases of 2024.

Also, in other months we might find a slightly more modest game catalog, but this time we’re warning you that the selection is as diverse as it is interesting. And that’s because you’ll have everything from a space epic set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is always great news, but also some very well-known Survivors titles and a card game that, if you get hooked, you won’t be able to put down for a long time. Take a look.

PS Plus Spaceship Card Survival?

If we put together all the features of each game, we could come up with a phrase like this, but it’s almost better not to. The fact is that this May 2025 is the day Balatro is released. Nothing more and nothing less than the card game that amazed the world in 2024 and was even nominated as one of the best of the year at The Game Awards. If you haven’t tried it, you can’t imagine the gameplay and entertainment bomb it is, and on top of that, with the deck packs and DLC that we can add, the addiction is absolute.

Obviously, we’ll be getting the game in its most basic version, the original title that arrived first, because all the extras that have been released since its launch aren’t included in this PS Plus bonus. So take advantage of the arrival of the Essential version to add it to your library and, as soon as you have a little time, start putting in the hours. It’s truly one of the most fun games we’ve played in recent memory, by far.

The other big game of the month is, without a doubt, ARK Survival Ascended, which is none other than the version of the original title adapted to the current generation of PS5. That ARK that broke out a few years ago laid many of the foundations for the survival genre we know today. So if you want to see what the original looks like with a touch of Unreal Engine 5 applied to all its graphics, and how the experience improves compared to PS4, go get it.

And finally, we have a Warhammer 40,000 game, which is always great news. In this case, its name is Boltgun Forges of Corruption, which arrived on PC a couple of years ago and is a small wonder because it’s a first-person shooter that’s a real hit, and on top of that, it has a pixel art look. So, it has everything you need if you’re a fan of the series and also want a game that doesn’t make you think much: just aim, shoot, and run through the corridors of its environments.
