Apple continues to improve TestFlight with a new design and additional features. The latest update of the app, numbered 3.7.0, introduces support for dark and tinted icons on iOS 18, bringing further customization to users.
New: Dark and Tinted Icons
With this update, TestFlight offers a custom dark icon and improves compatibility with the tinted fashion of iOS 18. Although the system can automatically darken certain icons, the visual result is not always ideal. Now, developers can create their own icons adapted to these modes for a more harmonious rendering. This is a way to create a theme very easily, further killing the need for jailbreaking.
What is TestFlight?
TestFlight is an Apple platform allowing developers to distribute beta versions of their applications to users across multiple devices, includingiPhoneL’iPadTHE MacL’Apple TVL’Apple Watchand theApple Vision Pro. Apple bought the company Burstly in 2014 to take over TestFlight and had also removed it from the Android Play Store.
Frequent updates
In October, Apple redesigned the TestFlight interfacemaking it more intuitive and similar to that of the App Store. Users can now view beta app descriptions and screenshots, replacing old developer test notes.
Furthermore, last month, Apple updated its Apple Developer app for iOS 18 with a dark icon.
