Rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro are rampant, and we’re getting more and more accurate reports. Now, it’s related to a new leak that’s been hitting social media in recent hours, and for good reason. It’s the iPhone 17 Pro case , which reveals the device’s full design.
Well-known leaker Sonny Dickson has shared images of what could be the protective cases for the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. And yes, there’s one detail that hasn’t gone unnoticed: the gigantic cutout for the rear camera module. Everything indicates that Apple is about to give its most advanced phone a complete makeover.
What the iPhone 17 Pro will be like according to rumors
According to rumors, the iPhone 17 Pro and its Pro Max version will finally abandon the classic square camera module that has accompanied the models since the iPhone 11. Instead, we’ll see a horizontal bar that runs across the back of the device. A design inevitably reminiscent of the Google Pixel, but with Apple’s signature. This strip will house the cameras, the LiDAR scanner, the microphone, and the flash, all distributed more symmetrically and with a clearly renewed aesthetic approach.
The renders (computer-generated concepts) and images of real parts we’ve seen suggest that the three-lens array will be arranged in a triangular pattern on the left side of the module, while the rest of the components, such as the LiDar sensor, microphone, and flash, would be housed on the right side of the horizontal module. This new separation between the sensors would allow for more precise depth mapping, improving focus and Portrait Mode, as well as Augmented Reality and night photography.

Another change is that this new horizontal camera module would be the same color as the rest of the chassis, contrary to initial rumors. This way, Apple would achieve a cleaner, more uniform aesthetic for the entire device. The reason for this redesign could be a reorganization that allows for greater thermal efficiency, space for larger components, or a simplification of the internal structure of the device without making it bulky.
iPhone 17 Air: Total Revolution
Additionally, it should be noted that Apple will also launch the long-awaited iPhone 17 Air this year, which will be the thinnest iPhone that the company’s engineers have ever developed, so we understand that they will have paid special attention to this aspect throughout the new generation.
Even though it’s time for a refresh and these changes would make perfect sense, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. The new iPhone 17 series will be unveiled at Apple’s special Keynote in early September. Until then, these are all rumors and leaks that won’t necessarily materialize in the final product.
