It has been a small bucket of cold water for those of us who are waiting for the POCO F7, but the truth is that it is not the first time that this has happened: it seems that the POCO F7 will hit the global market with a reduced battery compared to its Chinese version, the REDMI Turbo 4 Pro.

Although just a few days ago we were talking about the benefits of the REDMI Turbo 4 Pro, recently launched in China, and how it has a battery that is set to revolutionize the mobile market, it seems that in the end, it will only be like that in the Asian giant. One of the most striking features of what will be the POCO F7 in its global version is that Xiaomi launched it with a spectacular 7550 mAh battery, an outrage with a reversible charging port that even allowed the mobile to be used as a power bank.

The POCO F7 will have a 6500 mAh battery

As we said, it’s a cold shower: one of the most valued features in mobile phones lately is battery life, which Xiaomi itself is constantly focusing on with its HyperOS updates to optimize efficiency to the maximum and thus give us more hours of use from our phones.

At a time when it’s common for a phone to not last two days of heavy use without a charger, Xiaomi announced a REDMI Turbo 4 Pro with a 7550 mAh battery, which will be reduced to 6500 for its global version, the POCO F7. However, it seems they’re in luck in India, as they’ll get the same version as in China, with a higher-capacity battery.

Something similar happened when the global versions of POCO’s latest flagships, the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra, arrived, which also suffered battery cuts upon release from China. The reasons behind these changes have not been officially mentioned by Xiaomi, but it’s safe to assume the brand has its reasons for this difference with the global market.

It’s quite possible that this will be done to cut costs and thus be able to offer the most competitive price possible in the global version, or even that it will seek to reduce the weight of the device for certain market sectors that value this especially. In any case, the fact is that the POCO F7 will arrive in the West with a 6,500 mAh battery and, of course, maintain 90W fast charging.

What else do we know about the Xiaomi POCO F7?

The rest of the POCO F7’s specs should be identical to those of the REDMI Turbo 4 Pro, its recently launched Chinese version. This means we can expect a device with a large 6.83-inch OLED display at 1.5K resolution and 120 Hz, making it a spectacular display.

Still, the best thing about it promises to be its Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, making it the first phone to incorporate this chip and thus shaping up to be a true beast with cutting-edge power, and likely to be available for less than 300 euros. This will allow it to compete head-to-head with devices that are more than double its price without any problems, at least in terms of power.

In terms of photography, we’ll have a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 20MP front sensor. The phone is expected to launch soon, likely in less than a month, as has happened in similar cases in the past.
