In the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max it is possible to change, without stopping the recording, between the main camera of 48 MP, the ultra wide angle of 48 MP and the teleobjective of 48 MP, achieving different perspectives in the same take.
In addition, the small front view window can move freely on the screen just by dragging it with your finger, which is very useful if you cover some relevant detail, not forcing us to be in a fixed place. Of course, any change of position you do will be reflected in the final video, we will not be able to move it later, so be careful while you record, that it is directly as you want.
The dual recording It allows to capture in 1080p or 4K at 24 or 30 fps. If what you are looking for is a greater margin to edit later, the most recommended is usually recorded in 4K at 30 fps
Of course, not everything is advantages. Apple maintains a single format: the rear camera occupies most of the screen and the front is shown in a smaller window. Unlike what Samsung offers, you cannot alternate the sources or choose a divided screen design where both cameras appear on equal terms. Another detail to keep in mind is that everything is saved in a single video file, without separating the shots from each camera.
Hopefully, in the future, they allow postedness, or that they directly let us modify these parameters, since there are people who will prefer to record themselves, and that what comes out in small is what is captured by the rear camera, something that, for now, does not let us do.
