Fans of powerful phones are all eagerly awaiting Xiaomi’s latest release, which has also arrived in a very unusual way this generation. The POCO F7 is just around the corner and promises, as always, to offer incredible power and a display at a very reasonable price. But will it be able to compete with its older siblings?
It seems that the mobile world is following a similar evolution to that of other high-value electronic components such as graphics cards, and this year we have seen how Xiaomi has segmented the launch of its POCO with a similar strategy: the POCO F7 Ultra and the POCO F7 Pro arrived first without the standard POCO F7 being not only launched, but even announced.
Now that we’re very close to the arrival of the “simplest” model – remember that the F line is still POCO’s highest range – we can start analyzing what we know about the POCO F7 and how it has changed in its conversion to the global market since the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro from China.
The POCO F7 promises a lot
The POCO F7 arrives with such a strong showing that it promises to challenge its next-level phone, the F7 Pro. It’s curious that POCO’s main competitors are usually other POCOs, but we’re talking about phones with such spectacular features and value for money that very few models on the market can keep up: either they have worse processors or they’re much more expensive. Often, both are true.
The F7 comes with an impressive 6.83-inch display, a little larger than usual, which of course mounts an AMOLED panel at 120 Hz and 1.5K resolution. The Pro offers a slightly higher resolution, 2 K+, but the screen is 6.67 inches, the standard size currently. But, and here we come to the important thing, when we talk about a POCO, the F7 incorporates a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, an incredible processor that could be superior or at least comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 of the Pro.
Then we have the battery, and although the POCO F7 has suffered a battery cut compared to its Chinese version, it still reaches our market with a not inconsiderable 6,550 mAh, which continues to highlight it as one of the smartphones with the largest battery capacity currently. As for the photos, this has never been the area where this line of phones strives the most, but the model comes with a 50 MP main sensor with optical stabilizer that promises to perform more than well.
How will the arrival of the POCO F7 affect the F series
To start, let’s be clear: the POCO F7 can’t compete with the POCO F7 Ultra. Xiaomi’s flagship in the POCO line is the first high-end phone in this family and stands out as a true beast capable of crushing phones with four-figure prices, which leaves it out of the discussion. However, the POCO F7 Pro can’t say the same.
With features that in principle are not that different , if the starting price of the POCO F7 is low enough we could be looking at a more interesting option in terms of quality-price, with a lot to offer while saving us a good amount.
