Although it had already been shown a few months ago, it wasn’t until a few hours ago that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge became official, confirming what we already knew, that it is one of the thinnest smartphones ever made, but with some breathtaking features.
But now we’re not going to talk about everything hidden inside, but rather how it changes compared to the standard mobile phone in the series, a Galaxy S25 that continues to be thicker and smaller and that has some differences compared to this new ultra-thin phone that the brand has taken out of its pocket, never better said, in both cases.

Similarities between the two mobiles
We review the features that remain unchanged between the two Samsung phones.
Updated processor and operating system
In terms of power, both are equal, as they share Qualcomm’s most powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite , which is the pinnacle of power in 2025. In addition, both phones hit the market with Android 15 as the operating system, with One UI 7 as the customization layer.
Powerful RAM and next-generation connectivity
The two phones not only share a processor, but also a RAM. Both have 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM , ideal, while in terms of connectivity, they share features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, eSIM, and UWB.
Smooth and vibrant display
Both the Galaxy S25 and S25 Edge feature AMOLED technology with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth scrolling and vivid colors. Although they come in different sizes and resolutions, they both aim to offer a high-quality visual experience for multimedia content.
We’re talking about two phones that, despite being small and thin, are designed with IP68 certification , which protects them against dust and water. They also include advanced features such as an ultrasonic on-screen fingerprint reader and Samsung DeX.
Similar front camera and wireless charging
Both models offer a 12 MP f/2.2 front camera , allowing us to take great selfies and make quality video calls. They also include 25W fast charging and wireless charging, allowing for efficient battery recharge both with and without a cable. Neither model comes with a charger.
Differences between the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Edge
Beyond the similarities, these are all the differences between the two Samsung models.
Design and thickness
The most obvious difference between the two Samsung phones is their thickness. The Galaxy S25 Edge has an ultra-slim 5.8mm profile , making it one of the thinnest phones on the market, compared to the Galaxy S25’s 7.2mm, making it stand out visually from its smaller sibling, not least due to the change in the rear camera module.
Screen size and resolution
The S25 Edge offers a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ display with LTPO AMOLED technology, larger in size and resolution than the 6.2-inch FHD+ of the Galaxy S25.
Much more powerful main rear camera
The Edge packs a 200MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, while the S25 sticks with a 50MP sensor. While the S25 includes a more telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, the Edge’s resolution promises more detailed captures and improved cropping and editing capabilities, as long as you don’t want to take photos from a distance.
Battery capacity
The Galaxy S25 has a slight advantage in battery life, with 4,000 mAh compared to the Edge’s 3,900 mAh. This difference, while small in terms of numbers, may be significant considering the Edge’s larger, higher-resolution display, which increases power consumption.
The base price is considerably different
The Galaxy S25 starts at 909 euros (although, currently, it is easy to find it cheaper, around 700 euros), while the S25 Edge has a base price of 1,259 euros.
Which one to choose: Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 Edge?
If ultra-thin thickness and a sleeker design are key to you, the Galaxy S25 Edge is the ideal choice: its 5.8mm profile makes it visually unique and comfortable to hold. It also offers a more powerful camera and a superior display.
However, if you prefer a device with a better balance in terms of price, battery life, and versatile features, the Galaxy S25 is an excellent option considering that it came out a while ago and offers practically the same internal performance at a much more reasonable cost, with a full-featured camera and slightly better battery life.
