It’s no longer uncommon to find titles that exceed 100GB of disk space, leaving no room to properly enjoy their game library. Even the PS5 Pro, which comes with a very substantial 2TB of storage, can end up filling up with extensive libraries, and having to uninstall games and reinstall them is a hassle no one likes. Western Digital offers one of the most robust and high-quality models on the market, officially licensed for PS5 consoles. This is an NVMe M.2 drive with spectacular read speeds of up to 7300 MB/s and comes equipped with a heatsink, ensuring the device’s performance even in the most demanding and hot conditions.
This is an impeccable, top-quality drive available in 2TB, 4TB, and 8 TB. We’re sticking with the smaller version because it seems sufficient, but at the time of writing, the 4TB model is also very attractive for its price and quality.
Crucial X9 External SSD 1 TB
We’ll finish with a Crucial external SSD model that, it’s very important to clarify, isn’t suitable for PS5 games that require an SSD. However, it will be very useful for the PS4 digital library, as well as for other files we want to store on it, freeing up the console’s internal drive.
This is a 1TB model that offers read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and is very reasonably priced given its smaller range. It also offers great reliability and the advantage of being easy to transport and detachable.
