iOS 18 has made the battery worse
It is not an open secret that when a terminal is already a few years old, it runs the risk of being harmed with each major update that Tim Cook’s guys launch. In my case, this has been as is. So much so that I can no longer stretch its duration up to a full day, as I did before.
Many of you will say that charging it at night and again at noon should not be a major problem, but taking into account that we are talking about a high-end terminal, its increase in size and price is precisely a consequence of a better and longer battery life. Well, it’s not ideal. Having to charge my iPhone 13 Pro Max in the middle of the day when the use I make of it is the same or even less than before updating to iOS 18 is something that bothers me and there is no going back: the battery will never be the same.
In the device performance section, I have to admit that I have not seen big changes. It is true that it “hangs” more and more frequently, takes longer in opening some applications and processing depending on what things. However, I don’t see it as crazy as the battery drop I mentioned above.
The camera falls very short in 2025
Perhaps it is the section that matters most to me right now. The iPhone 13 Pro Max camera, which at the time improved the lenses compared to the previous generation, has aged really badly. This is so because the photos at night They are practically zero, especially if I compare it with those that are capable of taking other Android devices that do not even go beyond the mid-range.
I understand that we are talking about a mobile device that came on the market in 2021 and, therefore, I do not want to be too intransigent in my criticism, but it is true that given that for me it was the most recommended model, as I have acknowledged many times, it is my responsibility. is also to withdraw said statement.
The million dollar question: what would be the iPhone with the best quality-price ratio on the market? Well, although the most logical answer would be to jump to the iPhone 14 Pro Max (remember that I always talk about high-end models), since it already includes the Dynamic Island instead of the Notch. However, if I had to choose a terminal right now, I would bet on the iPhone 15 Pro Maxand a large part of this decision has to do with the new design that it incorporated, which gives a much more premium and lighter aesthetic to a terminal that, aesthetically, was already perfect.
