When purchasing a product, be it a phone, computer, keyboard, etc., I always go to Apple, because this company’s ecosystem makes everything very easy to use and synchronize. However, there is one specific team that seems like a scam to me.
And we all know that Apple is expensive, but it also offers you a guarantee and performance that other brands do not achieve, so I gladly pay for it, until I get this one, which seems so expensive for what it is, that I don’t think I’ve even come up with it.
Apple’s product with the worst quality and price ratio
Many may think of the cases, or even the Vision Pro, however, at the level of relationship with other brands, the cases are not such an expensive product, and the glasses do not have a real competitor, neither for the same price, nor for less, so they could be in this position, although they do not deserve it as much as the one we are going to talk about.
It is about the Apple Studio Displaya “monitor” with high image quality and performance, we cannot deny it, however, the price is exorbitant for what it offers us.
It is a 5K retina display that has 600 nits of brightness and 60 Hzall for a price that exceeds 1,500 euroswhat a complete iMac with a 4.5K and 500 nits screen at 60 Hz would cost us, that is, practically the same but with all the computer hardware.
And, despite the fact that it looks very good, in the middle of 2025 (the year we will reach without a second version) this price for a screen like this is outrageous, and we continue to say that on a visual level it is crazy, but that is not worth it , and we will find monitors of the same caliber, from other brands, for less than half the price, being able, in turn, to choose between different screen sizes, something that Studio Display does not allow us.
It should be said that all this is a personal opinion, and I’m sure that many people (especially graphic designers and workers in a sector where image quality is important) are super happy with this screen, and would not change it for anything, however , its price could be more affordablesince we think it is somewhat overkill, at least to have 60 Hz and 600 nits of brightness, and we hope that the next model will be better, or at least reduce its price.
And you, what do you think of the Apple Studio Display? Have you been able to try it? Do you have one? What improvements would you include in a second version? The truth is that for my part I would make 2 versions, one cheaper and not so Proand another for those who really need the best quality on the market and can afford it. I love its design and general aesthetics, but spending more than a computer is worth on it seems a bit exaggerated to me.
