Apple CEO Tim Cook just told X that his company will make a donation to support relief efforts on the ground in the Valencia region of Spain following deadly flooding caused by torrential rains in start of the week. The threshold of 100 deaths has been crossed according to the authorities.
A vision of the apocalypse
pictures apocalyptic of Spain, bruised after the torrential rains which fell in a few hours on the Valencia region, causing flash floods which devastated houses, swept away cars in the streets and trapped more than a thousand people. A year of rain in just eight hours.
Thus, Tim Cook quickly reacted to express his solidarity and make a donation, the amount of which was not revealed. Here is Tim Cook’s message on X:
We are thinking of all those affected by the devastating flash floods in the Valencia region of Spain. Apple will make a donation to help with relief efforts on the ground.

With more than 5,000 cars abandoned and many people still without electricity or telephones, the Spanish army has deployed rescue units with sniffer dogs to the worst-hit areas. Defense Minister Margarita Robles expressed fear that the number of victims would increase.
While global warming is being blamed, specialists explain that such a quantity of rain is nothing new. Over the last century, several episodes of the same magnitude have been experienced by the local population, including that which resulted in 81 deaths in 1957. One of the major differences would be that the region has been heavily concreted in recent decades, which prevents the natural absorption of water by the soil. Many associations are fighting to reverse the concretization of cities.
In recent weeks, Apple has also pledged to donate to help with relief efforts in the United States following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
