The UPerfect UGame K118 is a mobile 18-inch monitor. The IPS panel delivers a 2K image in 16:10. HDR10, FreeSync and gaming at 114 Hz are supported. The manufacturer specifies the viewing angle as 178° and the contrast ratio as 1000:1. On the left side of the screen there are two USB-C ports and the mini HDMI input, which is marked “HD”. In addition, external speakers or headphones can be connected to the K118 via the jack connection. Depending on the USB port on the PC, no extra power supply is required, as USB4 ports can be used for power supply. During operation, the power consumption is 12 watts. The K118 weighs just 1.04 kilograms.
Included is a small instruction manual and an accessory box with a USB-C power supply. In this case, the charger in question caused a coil whine and was therefore replaced. Due to the low power consumption, the accessory can be easily replaced. In another box there is an HDMI to mini HDMI cable and two USB-C cables. The screen is delivered in a transport case, which can also be used to position the screen. It is exemplary that UPerfect includes everything that is theoretically needed to get started.
2K resolution
The monitor has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The resolution is well-suited for gaming and videos. However, most people will probably increase the scaling in Windows: The 2K resolution makes browsers and Explorer a little too small to use. Our older colleague Timm Mohn admits: Younger people might have fewer problems with this. According to the manufacturer, 100% of the common DCI-P3 film color space is covered. During everyday use, colors in films and series appear strong and rich. UPerfect specifies the maximum brightness as 300cd/m².
Although the manufacturer has installed two 1-watt speakers inside the monitor, their sound quality is not really convincing. Most people will probably buy a sound system or use headphones. The poor performance is certainly due to the compact design. The sound performance is sufficient for a casual round of Nintendo Switch, but you won’t want to listen to a film through the internal speakers.
UPerfect UGame K118
